PI Athrey chaired the Physiology and Reproduction session at the Annual Poultry Science Association meeting in Toronto, Canada, between July 9 and 13. Athrey also presented the lead talk in the session, where he shared the lab’s work on developing a new phenotyping method to understand male fertility traits. This framework allows the integration of different modalities, multi-modal approaches, and multi-omics approaches to not only develop practical solutions but also to uncover the mechanisms of fertility declines in broiler breeders. Besides the conference, there was also a brief opportunity to sample the sights and culinary offerings.
