Welcoming Cara Cash to Our Research Team
In January 2023, our lab welcomed Cara Cash as a new M.S. student. Cara completed her B.S. in Poultry Science at TAMU.
Focusing on Broiler Breeder Fertility and Hatchability
Cara’s research will concentrate on the problems facing broiler breeder fertility and hatchability. Using simulation modeling and data analysis approaches, her work aims to identify and propose solutions to enhance fertility rates and hatchability in broiler breeders. This type of analytical approach is necessary to identify variables that are affecting breeder fertility and for addressing both economic and sustainability challenges within the industry.
A Background in Data Science and Smart Agriculture
Cara’s interest in data science and analysis emerged after attending a summer program on SMART agriculture at North Carolina State University. This experience broadened her academic pursuits and exposed her to the idea of applying data-driven solutions to agricultural challenges.
