Congratulations to Kolton Witherspoon on successfully defending his M.S. thesis titled “Identifying Spermatozoa Features for Fertility Scoring of Broiler Breeders.”
Kolton’s work combined morphological analyses of chicken spermatozoa and advanced analytical methods to identify key morphological characteristics of sperm cells that predict fertility outcomes in broiler breeder males. His findings contribute to the development of objective, data-driven scoring systems that could improve selection and monitoring for reproductive performance.
Kolton will continue contributing to research in avian reproductive biology and applied breeding technologies as he transitions to the Ph.D program in our lab.
