Mark Mattine, who has been an integral part of our mosquito research team, has begun his PhD in Entomology at Texas A&M. Mark has managed field and lab components of our malaria genomics work, including processing mosquito samples from Bioko Island. His transition to doctoral research builds on years of hands-on experience.
The PhD program will allow him to expand beyond technical expertise and pursue his own questions in vector biology. With the Department of Entomology’s strong faculty and facilities, Mark is well-positioned to contribute new knowledge on mosquito biology and disease transmission.
We congratulate Mark on this important step and look forward to his future contributions to entomology and global health research.
