Elizabeth completed her B.S. at Texas A&amp;M University in 2021 and will pursue her graduate studies with our lab, focusing on an important aspect antimicrobial resistance in livestock farming.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The Role of Synanthropic Insects in Antimicrobial Resistance<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Elizabeth&#8217;s research will investigate the role of synanthropic insects in harboring and dispersing antimicrobial resistance genes across livestock farms. These insects, which closely associate with human and livestock environments, represent a critical yet understudied pathway through which antimicrobial resistance can spread.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This area of study is essential for understanding the mechanisms of antimicrobial resistance dissemination and developing strategies to mitigate its impact on livestock health and food safety.
