We received a an grant from the Department of Defense – US Army Corps of Engineers to perform a range wide genetic survey of the endangered Golden-Cheeked Warbler. With the help of this two year award, we will be a) generating a genome assembly of the GCWA and b) using genome sequencing to assess population genetic trends, genetic diversity, and gene flow among various sites across Texas. This news was recently highlighted on AgriLife Today and on research.tamu.edu. Read more about it here.
In Spring 2020, we will be hiring field help to assist with this work. Please contact me if you are interested.
